The Process
During the six to eight month process, you will embark on a style journey with designer Ross Mayer forging a special bond and relationship of inspiration and creativity bringing your dreams to life.
Creating a masterpiece involves a detailed and intricate process and there are many opportunities along the way to perfect and shape your vision as your work of art unfolds leading up to the special day.
STEPS
Step 1: The Virtual Consultation
The designer Ross Mayer meets the Bride online and gets to know and understand what she wants based on style, fabric, construction and her preferred budget. Brides can choose from one of the R. Mayer Atelier Collection Gowns which can be ordered as is, with style modifications or a completely new look can be created to fulfill your bridal fantasy!
During a 30-minute online meeting collection gown designs are viewed and brides are encouraged to come prepared with style references to share for discussion. From here a design direction is established and designer Ross Mayer will prepare design and fabric options to present at the Showroom appointment which is now made.
Step 2: The Showroom Appointment
Sketches and fabric options are presented to align with the bride’s style direction. At this time brides can try collection dresses that range in a multitude of styles and silhouettes.
Final design decisions are made with details confirmed and a new sketch is presented at the following appointment.
Measurements are taken and a first fitting is scheduled.
A deposit of 50% is paid with the balance due upon completion.
Step 3: The Muslin Fitting
A muslin shell of the dress is prepared and pinned on the Bride to ensure the perfect fit. Her personalized pattern is now ready to be cut.
Step 4: The Lining Fitting
The lining of the gown is cut and prepared for a fitting. The masterpiece is taking shape as the gown is constructed from the inside out.
Step 5: The Full Fitting
The gown is cut and sewn together with all the actual fabrics. In this fitting the Bride can see her creation taking form.
Details are discussed and any final changes are confirmed.
Step 6: The Final Fitting/Pickup
The gown is completed to perfection. One last final check as the Designer walks the Bride through an extensive dress rehearsal to ensure that she is comfortable in her gown and looks perfect from head to toe.
The Bride is now ready to walk down the aisle!
